S2. DRAWS & TIES

(a) The preliminary round draw shall be made at the AGM. Where appropriate, the names or numbers of the teams drawn at home in the preliminary round of the Sykes Cup competition shall be placed in a designated away bag. From those remaining in the home bag, teams shall be transferred to the away bag until the two bags contain an equal number of teams. The transfer shall be undertaken at random, and the identity of the teams transferred shall not be disclosed. The preliminary round draw shall then take place with teams drawn from the home and away bags alternately.

(b) For ties in the first, second and third rounds, any clubs whose First Eleven is drawn at home in the corresponding round of the Sykes Cup competition shall be placed in the away bag, and the process described in Rule S2 (a) repeated. The draw for the appropriate round shall then take place. For semi-final ties the team drawn first in each pairing shall have home advantage.
