Joe Lumb Team March On

Sajid_S_Kirkburton_001Huddersfield's Joe Lumb team made it two wins from two matches defeating visitors North Yorkshire & South Durham by 121 runs on a sunny afternoon at Golcar. Batting first, Huddersfield made a solid score of 241-6 after 50 overs, with opening batsman Jacob Mulhall (Lepton Highlanders) providing a platform for the innings with a superb 77. Jack Hinchliffe (Armitage Bridge) made an unbeaten 60 and there were also good contributions from Muhammad Ali (Elland) with 23 and 18 from Sam Baxter (Hall Bower). 

In reply, North Yorkshire & South Durham found themselves in trouble falling to 39-2 and then 75-7 as Siraj Sajid (Kirkburton; pictured inset) and Jevan Peacock (Broad Oak) got to work with the ball. Sajid eventually finished with 4-47 and Peacock 3-15 as NY&SD were eventually bowled out for 115. Other contributions with the ball were Nathan Cyrus (Slaithwaite) with 2-25 and one wicket for Ben Shufflebotham (Almondbury Wesleyans) 

The Huddersfield Joe Lumb team are next in action on Sunday July 4th where they take on Barnsley at Almondbury Cricket Club.
