“I’ve played there a few times; they've got a strong team. It’s going to be a tough game. As it stands we’ve got to back ourselves because we’ve got matchwinners from one to 11. It’s not going to be easy for them. We may be a Championship team when you look at the league, but on paper I feel like that we’re better than that.”
After a two week break for unforeseen reasons The chaps at Castle Hill Cricket Podcast are back to digest some big cricket stuff!
The Sykes Cup Semi Final part two is coming up this coming weekend. Brawny Premiership heavyweights Moorlands take on nimble Championship upstarts Skelmanthorpe in what promises to be an excellent mouthwatering fixture. So who better to cast their eye over this than regular contributors Andrew Crawshaw and Steve Whitwam along with a pair of guests who are absolutely best placed to pick apart the preview; the towering force of nature that is Andrew Fortis from Moorlands’ corner and Skelmanthorpe skipper and man in the saddle; Allan Greenwood. Two brilliant guests.
The Premiership once again had drama at both ends after Thongsbridge spectacularly missed a beat and also missed their slender lead, to be replaced by the brooding presence that is Hoylandswaine. Delph got stuck in and came away with a precious win to move them closer to safety at the bottom whereas in the Championship; Skelmanthorpe are the new leaders to further please our current guest.
We’ll go through all this, plus we review the dismantling that Scholes suffered at the hands of Hoylandswaine in the first Sykes Cup semi-final. Enjoy the show via the link below or subscribe via the usual podcast channels.
