A new course, designed to give a basic overview of cricket scoring has been arranged for Friday 24th February at Illingworth Cricket Club.
The perfect training for those who are brand-new to scoring or who need a refresher. It covers the fundamentals of scoring and is designed for newcomers to scoring as well as parents who want to get more engaged. The purpose of this course is to learn and practise the fundamental abilities needed to record a cricket match. Although it doesn't cover everything, it will provide you with the starting points.
The cost of the course is £10 and you will need to bring with you a pen, pencil, rubber and ruler. The items covered during the 3 and half hour evening course cover how to score in a box style scoresheet. You will digest basic situations in a game of cricket and touch on some of the laws. You’ll also understand scoring record (scoresheet), Umpire’s signals, Scoring symbols, recording wickets and extras and scoresheet balancing.
