Merry Christmas From The Committee

Merry Christmas From The Committee

25 Dec 2020

After a challenging and unprecedented 12 months, the Executive Committee as one would like to wish all players, clubs and other stakeholders around the league a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

From hope and optimism at the turn of the year we were presented with an unprecedented global crisis when the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded rapidly in March affecting every one of us. A huge question mark over whether cricket could continue with concerns for the safety of players, officials and the economic catastrophe of closed club facilities. It is a credit to the many hours of hard work put in by so many to make a relative success of our T30 competition. We received many messages of appreciation throughout the summer for arranging this but thanks must also go to everyone else from groundsmen, club stewards and legions of volunteers around our league.

Seeds of positivity are beginning to show for next season, with a new vaccine in the process of a rollout and the benefit of experience following last summer. There are still many hurdles to overcome to return to a normal way of life but we believe we are getting there.

We hope our friends, players, umpires and club officials enjoy the festive period and most importantly stay safe. See you in 2021!
