Castle Hill Cricket Chat Episode 32 has been released after a short break.
We’ve just passed the halfway point of the season and, as predicted, it has been as competitive as it has ever been. The Premiership is one huge mixed salad with just about all clubs apart from the top three fighting to stay out of the relegation zone.
There was big news announced by the league at the latest Council meeting as they bid to become the 30th ECB Premier League so what does that entail for the clubs? The chaps here discuss the effects and advantages that may bring, to take Huddersfield Cricket to the next level.
Our guest this episode is Darren Hinchliffe, a player who enjoyed a hugely successful career with six clubs and he gravitated around three specifically. He has appeared in seven Sykes Cup finals; joining an esteemed group of players who have appeared the most times in it so it felt like a great chance to discuss Armitage Bridge’s first appearance in the semi-final since 1978.
We’ve also rounded up other news in and around the league in the past month including reflecting on the life of a Golcar great; John Cooper, who passed away recently.
It’s a jam-packed episode so grab yourself a refreshing cup of tea, coffee, glass of wine or a beer (if it’s a suitable time of day!). Enjoy the show
