In this episode the Chat were delighted to welcome a special guest on this season-closer: Simon Kelly. He was the latest league legend to join the exclusive 20,000 runs club. Simon chatted about his remarkable career and took on the quickfire “career in a minute” quiz.
It was a full house too, with Cobber, Andrew, Dom and Jacob all back on the mic to look over another action-packed season. Five standout “clubs of the season” were picked out to discuss what made each of their campaigns so impressive.
Things got lively when the hosts all named their Team of the Season — each choosing their best batters, bowlers, fielders and wicketkeeper to build what might just be the ultimate Huddersfield League XI for 2025.
And finally tribute was paid to one of the Huddersfield Cricket League's most popular umpires; Barrie Dyson who passed away over the summer.
