The Johnny Hunter Rose Bowl awards have been announced, recognising two outstanding individual performances in the 2025 season for both 1XI and 2XI’s.
The 1XI Award goes to Stanley Dey of Thurstonland CC for a superb all-round performance against Holmfirth on 9th August. Opening the batting, Stanley scored 54 runs, including seven boundaries. He then went on to deliver an outstanding bowling spell, taking six wickets in 11.4 overs showcasing remarkable control and determination. At just 19 years old, Stanley played a pivotal role in what proved to be a turning point for the team, helping inspire improved performances and ultimately securing safety from relegation by just three points
The 2XI Award goes to Awais Ahmed of Almondbury Wesleyan CC for an outstanding batting performance against Birkby Rose Hill 2XI on 10th August . Opening the innings, Awais produced a masterclass, scoring 163 not out off 145 balls, including 23 fours and five sixes, a career best. His phenomenal innings guided Wes to a commanding total of 258/3, sealing a comprehensive victory.
Both players will be honoured at the annual awards evening on Friday, 28th November, where they will officially receive their trophies.
