Almondbury Wesleyans CC have organised two significant covid secure outdoor events for this coming summer, subject to Coronavirus regulations allowing . A Last Night of the Proms style Concert featuring the Huddersfield Choral Society and a Comedy Night starring comedian Josh Daniels will take place over the first weekend in June.
These outdoor functions are all outside, on the outfield, socially distanced, covid secure events so bring your own picnic chairs and blankets to enjoy in comfort if you will be attending.
Friday 4th June 2021 (8:00pm)
Irreverent comedy kicks off this intriguing duo of events in the form of entertainer Josh Daniels. Known as the ‘Cheeky Prince of Parody’, Josh will have you in fits of belly laughs. He has shared the stage with many a sporting great during an exhaustive career at dinners and other comedy events around the country. He tailors his set to accommodate most environments keeping his material bang up to date with the latest trends. Tickets for the Comedy night are £15.

Sunday 6th June 2021 (5:00pm)
The BBC’s Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall is a world famous annual concert event in many calendars with patriotic anthems bound to raise goosebumps, and Wesleyans’ own take, under a hopefully blue late afternoon summer sky, is something that should not be missed. At what will be their first live performances for over a year, the renowned, 150 voices strong Huddersfield Choral Society together with the Black Dyke Band will present a programme of popular classical pieces and numbers from West End musicals that will be topped off with the usual section of British patriotic songs that ends with the Union Jack flag waving Jerusalem, Land of Hope & Glory and Rule Britannia. Tickets for this unique event are £20.
