Due to high demand from players and officials to watch the England v Switzerland Euro 2024 Quarter-Final match, which kicks off at 5:00pm on Saturday, 6th July, the Huddersfield Cricket League Executive Committee has decided to offer Clubs flexibility around start times and the length of matches for all scheduled fixtures during Saturday's league programme.
Clubs are being allowed, by mutual agreement, to bring forward their usual 12:30pm or 1:00pm start time and/or reduce the length of games below 50 or 45 overs to finish earlier, subject to the following criteria:
- Both captains and all appointed umpires (including any club umpires) MUST unanimously agree to the proposed earlier start time and reduced number of overs.
- The earliest a match can commence is 10:00am, and the minimum innings length must be no less than 30 overs per innings.
- Shortened matches will follow standard league rules for reduced overs matches.
- If the parties cannot mutually and unanimously agree the changes then match start times and the number of overs will proceed as normal.
- Clubs hosting matches with adjusted start times and/or overs must inform the Match and Registrations Secretary Phil Senior of the changes agreed via email on phil.senior@davair.co.uk by no later than 9:00am on Friday, 5th July.
