The Yorkshire Cricket Board (YCB) has announced details of training opportunities for umpires and scorers across the county, with further courses expected to follow over the winter months.
Female Scorers
Currently, the only course confirmed and advertised is an ECB Umpires Training Course at Bowling Old Lane CC, Bradford on Saturday 27th September 2025 (9:30am–4:00pm). This course is for females only, aged 14 and above, and costs £70. Full details, including how to register, can be found on the YCB website.
Scorer Courses
Details of scorer training will be published later in the year, but the following courses are planned for winter 2025/26:
- Club Scorer to Level 1 Accreditation
- Electronic Scoring (Laptop)
- Duckworth Lewis Stern
- Linear Scoring

Umpire Courses
Further ECB umpire courses will be advertised across Yorkshire this winter. In Huddersfield, the YCB Training Officer is planning the following sessions, anticipated for Feb/March 2026 at Almondbury Wesleyans CC:
YCB ACO Umpire Refresher Sessions - Free course for Umpires Association Panel Umpires & Club Umpires who are ACO members.
Onward Learning Modules
Umpires Development Course – 2-day course for those who have completed an ECB Umpires Course, or who wish to become a Club/Panel umpire outside of the Umpires Pathway. (Fee TBC)
Module B – 1-day course for current umpires aiming to join the Umpires Panel. (Fee TBC)
All course details will be published here and also on the YCB website, where registrations must also be completed. Please note, if a local course date is not convenient, you may register for a course at any Yorkshire venue.
