Barbadian cricketing giant Sir Gordon Greenidge has set his sights on Skelmanthorpe’s modest surroundings in a ‘meet a great’ style event at Lidgett Lane.
This prestigious evening on Thursday 29th June will see the destructive Test opening batsman involved in a junior training session starting at 5:30pm before later talking through his memories of a glittering career with the great West Indies test team of the 70’s and 80’s along with his fine spell with Hampshire.
The event is totally free and all cricket lovers are invited down to Skelmanthorpe’s ground for a chance to have a picture taken with Sir Gordon and hear about his legendary exploits in a specially curated Q&A session.
Top chef and former Huddersfield restaurateur Barrington Douglas is also on hand to provide some delightful Caribbean food which can be purchased on the night between 7pm and 8pm with the event scheduled to conclude around 9:30pm. Don’t miss out on this rare free event! Full details below:
