Thongsbridge CC have been awarded the GE Greenwood Trophy for producing a ground of high standard with improvements to playing area and amenitites
The club last won this trophy in 2019, the same year the new clubhouse was completed. Since then, significant investments have been made to enhance the venue — including the addition of a new outdoor bar and expanded seating and hospitality areas — all aimed at improving the spectator experience. Thongsbridge were also comended for hosting this years Sykes Cup Final so well, having stepped in at short notice when Honley, who were originally due to stage the event, reached the final themselves. The day was a really excellent event for participants and the more than 1000 spectators that attended and admired the facilities
Cricket can be a long game, and the surrounding environment plays an important role in shaping the enjoyment of both players and supporters. These developments have led to increased footfall at the club. Alongside this, year-round efforts have been devoted to improving the quality of the playing surface, ensuring that cricket of the highest standard can be hosted on the ground.
Congratulations to all those that worked tirelessly on and off the ground, improving the facilities and behind the scenes, your dedication and efforts have been recognised
The trophy will be presented at the Awards Evening on 28th November at Greenhead Masonic Hall
