A full-time job opportunity by the Yorkshire Cricket Board has come up based in the Kirklees area, initially on a 12 month contract but possibly permanent dependent on the success of the project.
Yorkshire Cricket has secured funding from the ECB to better understand how communities in Kirklees, that have a heritage and history connected to the South Asian countries of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka wish to watch, play, coach and officiate in cricket. This post will be to help develop that understanding across Yorkshire Cricket, helping to promote best practice from a local to regional level.
Applicants need a sound knowledge and understanding of diverse communities and cultures and recreational cricket; a commitment to increase player retention and participation at all levels; proven managerial and administrative competencies; together with excellent communication skills. Knowledge and experience of cricket would be an advantage but the role is not a coaching one.
The successful applicant will be employed by the Yorkshire Cricket Board but will work under the Yorkshire Cricket banner, which includes the Yorkshire County Cricket Club and the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation.
You can view the full job description on the Yorkshire Cricket Board website and the closing date for applications is Monday September 3rd. The successful applicant is expected to take up the post in October 2018.
