Following a new rule change which was proposed by the Executive Committee and with the vast majority of our clubs in favour, the Sykes Cup and Paddock Shield has been redrawn.
From the 2021 season, our flagship cup competition the Sykes Cup and the equivalent competition for 2XI teams, the Paddock Shield has been streamlined to remove the preliminary round and will contain the top ranked 32 teams from the season prior. The remaining clubs are automatically entered into the revived Oddfellows and Earnshaw Cups where the remaining slots will be taken by the lowest-ranked losing teams from the Sykes Cup and Paddock Shield first rounds.
