All the headlines in the Conference centred around Linthwaite's Abdullah Mazoor’s record-breaking exploits at Kirkheaton. The young overseas player from Pakistan took all ten wickets, registering figures of 10-16 for his new team with every victim bar one being bowled. Linthwaite romped to their big win by bowling Kirkheaton out for 40 in reply to the visitors 120ao where Azad Mahmood took 5-23.

Hoylandswaine 2XI easily saw off Hall Bower despite Harry Bissett’s half century for Bower. Swaine replied with 137-4 to Bower’s 136ao with Shabir Rashid getting 47 of them. Mirfield blasted the largest first team score of the day and Adam Goldthorpe the only century in their romp at home to Almondbury. They totalled 251-5 with Goldthorpe’s nice, round 100no coming off 88 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Almondbury were dismissed for 126 thanks to Beau McGuinness and Mohammad Hassan’s four wicket hauls.

Elsewhere, the two teams relegated from the Championship went head to head at Hemplow. Marsden held off visitors Thurstonland by chasing down 174ao after Marsden’s Janaid Tanwir took 5-43 but they were reliant on a new signing from Leeds Gladiators in Parth Naik (49) and Ben Harding’s rearguard 29no. Tom Mighall (6-26) scuppered Denby Dale at Upperthong. Dale only made 51 in reply to ‘Thongs’ 122ao where Tom Berry took 5-32. Cumberworth’s Jordan Greaves (45) and Josh Kilner (3-28) were the main men in their 95-run win at home to Birkby Rose Hill where Ali Rafix took 5-46.
