Kirkburton's superb Sri Lankan Roscoe Tahttil has been awarded the Overseas Player Of The Season for the 2021 season. The likable all-rounder has produced some stunning displays including the highest batting performance by a player with a 163no against Broad Oak in July.
Roscoe, who was a guest on our official podcast 'Castle Hill Cricket Chat' earlier in the year, has again been a consistent performer scoring a total of 1,054 runs. He still has a chance of eclipsing the 1,183 runs he scored for Kirkburton in 2019, the last time he was in the UK . In 2021 he has racked up five fifties and three hundreds in a hugely successful campaign, becoming a key contributor to Kirkburton's top half Premiership position. With the ball he has taken 19 wickets with his spin bowling at an average of 19.89 with an economy rate of just over four runs per over.
Whilst he does his talking on the pitch with a wristy playing style, Roscoe is such an affable and well spoken character off the field too helping out with coaching at Riley Lane. The league will be proud to present him with his award ahead of Kirkburton's home match with Delph & Dobcross on Saturday September 4th.
